Windows 95/98 Dialer Set-Up (Page 2)

Once you have the new connection you will need to set the properties so that your PC can properly communicate with the Q-Express.Net Server. First, highlight the icon that you just created (single click, not double) and then right-mouse-click on it. Here you can select the "Properties" option.
The top of this window should have three tabs. If not already on "General" click that tab now. If the Use Country Code and Area Code box is checked, un-check that now. The bottom half of this screen gives you the opportunity to change your modem settings. Usually you don't need to adjust this here. When ready, click the tab on the top that says "Server Types".

The Server Types on your system should resemble the screen shown here. Ensure your Type of Dial-Up Server is set to "PPP: Windows 95, Windows NT 3.5, Internet". Also ensure the check boxes are clicked as shown. You will then need to click on the "TCP/IP Settings" button to continue.
Q-Express.Net's server automatically assigns the IP and Name Server address. If not clicked already, choose the options as shown here as well as the two check boxes regarding compression and default gateway. When ready click the "OK" button.

If your version of Windows 95 has a "Scripting" tab then click on that tab to get to this screen. Q-Express.Net's server does not need a script so leave this line blank. If there is a file name already here then delete it. You should also have the "Start Terminal Screen Minimized" box checked. Click on the "OK" button to save all the changes you have made here.
