Windows 95/98 Dialer Set-Up (Page 3)

Now, to connect to Q-Express.Net you will want to double click on your connection icon. For simplicity you may want to create a shortcut to this icon and place it on the PC desktop. To do this, right-mouse click on the icon and click on "Create Shortcut". Windows 95 will show you a message box that tells you that you can't create a shortcut here but asks if you want it on your desktop instead. Choose YES. The shortcut will not be on your desktop.

This is the connection screen you will see each time you log onto Q-Express.Net. Type in your username and password. Ensure you capitalize when needed. To avoid having to type in your password each time you log-in, click the "Save Password" box. The phone number you are dialing does not need a dash but can include one for clarity. When ready, click "Connect".

Please note that the telephone number shown here is the local Norfolk number. Your connect number may be different.

If you click the "Dial Properties" button on the previous screen then you will get this screen. Here you can indicate if you need to turn off the Call Waiting feature on your telephone. If you have call waiting and are on-line when somebody calls, you will be knocked off the Internet and probably won't have time to pick up the call. It's suggested you disable Call Waiting but choosing the "*70" option.
